BACKGROUND
Founded in 1974, alltours is the largest independent tour operator in Germany and one of the top five travel providers in the country. With approximately two million customers in 2022/2023 and a brand awareness of 92%, alltours is a leading player in the European travel market.
The alltours group comprises many well-known brands, such as alltours flugreisen, alltours dynamisch, and BYE.bye. It also operates numerous successful business units within the travel sector, including the Reisecenter alltours travel agency chain with about 200 branches, the Spanish incoming agency Viajes allsun, as well as the allsun Hotel chain.
CHALLENGE
alltours recognized the need to introduce an innovative new technical setup across the group while optimizing costs and providing an improved customer experience on all their travel websites.
This leading tour operator was looking to offer its comprehensive range of travel options to its growing customer base. However, the current technology in place was not able to integrate their entire product portfolio into their own and external sales channels.
alltours operates numerous travel websites - alltours.de, alltours.at, alltours.ch, and alltours.nl, as well as byebye.de. The group wanted to improve and enhance the functionality on all these websites to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly search and booking experience for customers. Ways to achieve this included improving usability, developing the search functionality with flexible filter options, as well as accelerating response times for search queries to deliver a faster and more efficient user experience. Finally, the tour operator also wanted to offer additional services such as insurance add-ons, ancillary services, and their own offerings to increase upsell opportunities and ultimately increase revenue across the group.
